Show off your English Pride! The origins of the Flag of England can be traced far back to the 13th century and can also be seen in the Union Jack Flag. It depicts Saint George's Cross which is not only featured on many other different flags, but was also a symbol of the crusaders in the late middle ages. The exact date as to when it was adopted by England is debated however it is believed that the English army used the cross to identify themselves in the 1200's and then officially used on the flag in the 1500's. Nowadays, it is not uncommon to see the Flag of England being waved and is commonly used during sporting events.
