5 Pro Tips For Designing A Banner Stand

Lucky you, you've been tasked with getting a banner stand printed and you have no idea where to start? Well here is some great news, you just landed yourself on the page dedicated passing on 25 years of design and printing experience to help you get the best banner stands!

So sit back and read on as we provide tips on designing your banner stand, explain the different types of banner stands available and offer resources including templates and links to order professionally printed banner stands online at fair prices.

1. Keep It Simple

Think of your banner stand like a neon sign: bold, bright and basic. A well designed banner stand draws the eyes to you the same way a sign does. Once you've got peoples attention, keep the information you deliver to a minimum. Who are you? What do you do? What makes you unique (value proposition)? How do people contact you?

2. Design Top Left To Bottom Right

In the west we read from top to bottom, left to right so it makes sense to design your banner the same way. we suggest you split the banner into 3 parts.

  • Top. Place your logo and name at the top to answer the question (who are you).

  • Middle. Explain what you do in one or two sentences and explain how you are the best choice for what you.

  • Bottom. Place your contact information towards the bottom 1/3 of the banner (web and physical address and phone).

3. Image Is Everything!

Big beautiful pictures can make or break a banner, but don't be fooled by what you see on your screen. To make sure your images print out crisp and clear at full size it's essential your images are saved in CMYK color (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black) and the resolution is set to 150 DPI (dots per inch) minimum or 300 DPI (dots per inch) maximum.

Not sure what all of that means? Check out the Technical Printing Specifications for Banner Stands below. The good news is that when you print banner stands at Clubcard we provide a complete file check before we print and we'll let you know if there may be an issue with the clarity of your images.

4. Size Matters

Clubcard offers banner stands in sizes that range from 11" x 17" table toppers to 8' x 10' backdrops so whatever role your banner stand is intended for there is a size to match. Yes, a large banner stand grabs attention but don't underestimate the power of a table top banner stand - these mini banner stands are a great way to reinforce collateral messages at your conference table or in your shop and a perfect format to promote contests and encourage newsletter opt ins.

5. Swag it Up

Your banner stand has one mission, to bring attention to your message and draw people over. Once those people are near it is vital you engage and get collateral in their hands. Designing brand consistent business cards, postcards, brochures and give away swag like stickers and tote bags work like magic!
