We have the pleasure of working with so many talented designers and artists from around the globe and we know there must be several of you who would be interested in entering your work in the prestigious, British contest for the title of Wildlife Artist of the Year.

 

The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation welcomes entries from around the world in all artistic media for this contest now in its 13th edition. This event is the most important in the wildlife art realm.

 

Do you have what it takes to stand out on the world stage?

 

There are eight categories:

  • Animal Behaviour

  • Earth’s Wild Beauty

  • Human Impact (ages 16-22 only)

  • Into the Blue

  • Urban Wildlife

  • Facing Extinction (previously Vanishing Fast)

  • Wings, Feathered or Otherwise

  • Endangered: Wildlife in Motion

All categories cover all mediums, including sculpture and original prints (excluding photography and film and electronically created artwork). Entries must be work completed within the last five years by the entrants themselves and must be their own original work.

 

The judges are looking for not only beautifully executed original artworks but also an imaginative interpretation, moving away from the purely photographic to compositions with great characterization, showing imagination, originality and genuine creativity.

 

The contest is open worldwide to both amateur and professional artists alike aged 16 years or over.

 

The Prizes

 

There are eight categories:

 

  • First Prize: 10,000 GBP (approx. 12,900 USD)

  • Second Prize: 1,000 GBP

  • 8 category winners: 500 GBP each
