Print elegant suede laminated greeting cards with raised foil elements for holidays, thank you notes, weddings and exclusive events at Clubcard Printing.
Raised foil greeting cards evoke an unsurpassed sensory experience with elements in gold, silver or iridescent foil that reflect light in raised 3-D effect.
Your greeting cards are printed in full color on 16 point coated card stock that is laminated with 1.5mil velvet soft suede lamination on both sides to give you greeting cards that measure out to 19 points or 19/1000” thick.
The design elements to be printed in raised foil are then added to one side of your cards, typically this is the front and back panels of folding cards.
Just a note that raised foil is not available on both sides of your cards, please click on the "Things you should know" tab for complete technical information and pro tips from our production crew to get perfect suede laminated raised foil greeting cards.
Coatings Make The Colour Vary
Colors under suede lamination will appear slightly muted and may alter the final result. (Even 100% K will appear somewhat charcoal in color.) Color matching of artwork is not suited to this product.
What is the difference between Foil Stamping and Raised Foil
Foil Stamping has a flat finish foil whereas Raised Foil has a raised foil finish. If you run your fingers over the card you will feel the foil. Ask us for a sample to see and feel the difference for yourself!
Fine Details Don't Translate Well To Raised Foil
Due to the nature of the raised foil application fine details may expand and fill in unexpectedly. If the foil layer includes a lot of fine detail, tight corners, etc., the foil will result in some filling in, especially at smaller sizes. We do not recommend having fonts smaller than 10pt on the Raised Foil Artwork. If you use fonts with thicker strokes or bold fonts, we do not recommend having fonts smaller than 12pt. Make sure that raised foil designs are as simple and large as possible.
Not For Large Areas Of Foil Coverage
For best results, please make sure that foil coverage is less than 50%. Otherwise, the foil will be wavy and won’t look good. The only time a 50-75% coverage is acceptable is with patterns, thin strokes or small shapes.
Can I have any printing under the raised foil?
We highly recommend having a solid color behind the foil mask. Elements under the foil mask might be visible through the foil after application.
Knockouts Are Not Recommended
Knockouts are not recommended since there may be a shift (up to 1/16”) when the foil is applied.
Foil Layer Must Be Supplied As Vector
For this finishing method, the mask file must be a vector file created in vector-based programs such as Illustrator.
